UPDATE ON COVID-19 PREVENTION MEASURES & ACS BUSINESS CONTINUITY

Dear customers,

ACS Postal Services SMSA, with a sense of corporate and social responsibility for the protection of its staff, associates, and society in general, has prepared a business continuity plan regarding the prevention measures due to coronavirus and the possible occurrence of a Covid-19 case at its headquarters, sorting centers and stores across the country.

With a view to establish a responsible and smooth operation of the company, for the on-time and safe service of its customers, based on the instructions issued and updated by the competent goverment bodies, the necessary information has been provided to all staff on how to protect themselves and the general public, coming in contact with them. At the same time, cleaning and disinfection are scheduled on a daily basis, as well as instructions for handling, depending on the following cases:

  • Handling of a suspicious case
  • Action plan in case of confirmed case.

More specifically, the business continuity plan includes all the actions required to avoid COVID-19 infection and to ensure the full operation of the company and its stores, unless the authorities order the shutdown either locally or nationwide, due to quarantine.

Regarding all shipments, either delivered by the couriers of the company, or picked-up at the stores:

  1. ACS offers its customers the possibility of contactless receipt of their shipments, using a unique code (PIN), without requiring the signature of the recipient and therefore avoids contact with common objects such as the courier’s or receptionist’s tablet The PIN for each shipment is sent to the recipient’s mobile phone by sms or Viber message and can be used only once, for security reasons.
  2. Safety masks are strictly used by the staff in all areas inside and outside the store.
  3. It is recommended to avoid -as much as possible- the use of cash during transactions and prefer contactless transactions through payment cards.

Regarding customers’ visits at our stores:

  1. The maximum number of people allowed to be at the store’s reception area is up to 2 and the distance of 2 meters between customers and employees must be strictly kept. Customers’ waiting should take place strictly outside the store.
  2. There is a special marking placed at the reception area’s floor for the waiting place of the customers, in order to keep the necessary distance.
  3. There is special plexiglass installed to keep customers and employees at a safe distance.
  4. There is a bottle of disinfection liquid with infusion pump and base at the store’s entrance, for mandatory use by customers when entering.
  5. The reception area (floor, chairs, counters, doors, knobs, switches) is disinfected at regular times during the day and always before opening or after the end of its operation.

 

Regarding the couriers of the company:

  1. Delivery of items is recommended to take placeat the entrances.
  2. All drivers carry with them antiseptic liquid or wipes for regular disinfection of all objectswhich come in constant contact with (steering wheel, pda equipment etc).
  3. All vehicles are disinfected before or at the end of use.

 

Overall, this activity is overseen by the company’s Directors, the Quality Manager, the Physical Safety Manager and the Personnel Manager.
